Boy on a bike

This week we have been doing a three level guide this is what mine looks like. BOY ON A BIKE
By Bronwen Wall

WALT: infer different levels of meaning within and beyond the text

Level 1. Literal Meaning (we find evidence in the text)
  • The wind howled in mac’s ears
  • He gripped his handlebars tighter
  • Something large swept into his peripheral vision
  • He ate every 20 minutes
Level 2. Inferential Meaning (we read between the lines to infer what the writer has implied)
  • It says he had the worst day on the first day I would like it to happen first so I can get it over and done with
  • They said that they ate every 20 minutes i would probably have stich if i did that
  • It says when they were experimenting tying 3 tires together
Level 3. Applied Meaning (we decide what the author might think or may want us to think from what has been said-we make a link to the text from our own experiences)
  • I would not be able to bike for that long he showed heaps of  perseverance
  • It must've taken alot of planning  time like the route the food or the clothes

  • When he got home he was a different person
  • He wanted to change his life
Level 3. Applied Meaning (we decide what the author might think or may want us to think from what has been said-we make a link to the text from our own experiences)
  • When brando was alone he sorted his life out

Ballast

Today we had been introduced to the ballast problem.
A ballast is actually a weight in the bottom of a ship.
So you need the weight to be balanced to stay afloat if not then you are going to sink so what we had to do is create the same number out of the equations.
The first to boxes you multiply and it equals 10 the other three you add and it equals 10
so the boat stays floating because it is the same ending number.
